This App Allows You to Send and Read SMS from PC Without Touching Your Phone

Send and Read SMS for PC with the help of this cool app. SMS which is not  used as widely as some other applications like WhatsApp. Before a few years, SMS services were everywhere. People used them very often and all the networks had dedicated SMS plans for their users. But by the birth of applications like WhatsApp and Telegram, the number of people who uses SMS services have reduced. The service became almost dead.

All of you might be familiar with WhatsApp Web, right? WhatsApp web is a web based interface using which you can send and receive messages from your WhatsApp account  on your phone. The phone just needs to be connected to Internet. We can access all messages using a computer without actually having the phone in hand.

I personally use WhatsApp web all the time. It is very easy to use. I have my laptop open always and it is always easy to check WhatsApp messages from the laptop itself. I don’t have to check my phone for that. Also one great use of this feature can be when your phone battery is low, but you really can’t miss that WhatsApp chat going on. In this case one could open WhatsApp on their PC and then put the phone to charge. This way we don’t miss the chat and also the phone will get the necessary juice it needs.

Google Messages for Web

Similarly  now you can send and read SMS from a web interface. Google had recently  introduces Web Based Messaging in its Messaging Application. This will allow user to send SMS/RCS messages on Desktop through web. As i mentioned  earlier, people working on their desktops can access their messages  on a tab  and can check their messages and respond to them  without the need to check his /her phone.

The interface is very light and simple. We have the contact list in the left pane and the message window in the main section. Very similar to what we  have seen in the case of WhatsApp web.

How  to Access Messages for Web

First thing you need is the latest Google Messages application. Download the Google Messages App from Google Play Store. The application is absolutely FREE. Once you have Installed the application, make Google Messages the default Messaging application.  You will be asked to change the default messaging application when you first open the application.

Messages for Android Interface

Once thats all set, Go to messages.android.com Once you are there, the page will be showing a QR code.  Scan the QR code on the phone and you are good to go.

Steps for accessing Messages for Web

  1. Open Messages Android Messages.
  2. Tap More Moreand then Messages for web.
  3. On your computer, open Messages webin a browser.
  4. Tap Scan QR code and hold your phone up to the QR code  to scan it.
  5. You will be taken to the messages pane after that.

How to use Messages for Android

Note:  This service uses the mobile connectivity to send SMS. SMS messages are send using the phone balance. You will be charged as per your subscribed plan. The webpage shows a warning message if we are using Mobile Data. Google advice us to connect to Wifi networks.

Messages for web has a Dark Mode too. This makes it  easy to use Messages for android at night. Then there is a High Contrast Mode too. We can use the Remember this Computer option to save the computer so that you don’t have to scan the QR code every time you want to use the service. On the Messages application we are able to see all the computer in which we have signed in to. We can easily remove any device or sign out of all the computers at once.

Final Thoughts

This is definitely a good option for those who spend most of their time with their desktop or laptop. They can concentrate on what they are doing and in case if any sms notification comes, messages can be read and replied in a web browser without having to check the phones. You will be receiving notifications on your computer every time you receive a message.
