How to Fix IDM Integration with Chrome
If the IDM extension is missing from the browser or If the integration is corrupt, IDM will not work properly. IDM will show a small Download widget over videos or music and lets you download videos and music from websites. If this widget is not showing, this might be due to the missing extension.

First let’s check if the extension is present or not.
- Open Google Chrome.
- Click on the 3 dotted Menu > More Tools > Extensions or type in
chrome://extensions/in address bar.
- Check if you can see the IDM Integration Module extension.
- Check if the extension is Enabled or Disabled.
If the extension is not enabled, just enable the extension and restart Chrome. Try downloading some file and see if IDM was able to capture the download or not?

Before that click on Remove to uninstall the extension from Chrome.
How to Add IDM Extension to Chrome
We need to install the IDM Integration Module extension to Google Chrome. The Extension can be found in the IDM installation directory. This is how you can install the IDM extension:
- Open Google Chrome.
- Navigate to Extensions.
- Open the Folder in which IDM is installed.
- Find a file named IDMGCExt or IDMGCExt.crx
- Drag the file and drop it in the Extensions page in Chrome.
- Chrome will give a prompt to add the extension. Click on Add Extension.
- You’ll be redirected to Installed Successfully page.
Sometimes Chrome might give you an error while installing 3rd party extensions from outside Chrome Web Store. In such cases, you can get the IDM Integration Module from Chrome Web Store.

Once that’s done, Restart the browser and you will be able to download files using IDM.
Also Make sure the settings in IDM is also correct.
- Open IDM and Go to Downloads > Options.
- Under General, make sure Advanced Browser Integration is checked.
- Also Check Google Chrome from the list of web browsers if it’s not already checked.
